What’s described as Scotland’s first charity devoted to offering below 16s with abilities in digital expertise has been launched.
The Digital Xtra Fund’s targets embrace encouraging extra ladies to take science, expertise, engineering and maths topics in school.
Earlier than reaching charitable standing, the scheme ran workshops at schools across Scotland last year.
It has obtained some preliminary funding from public our bodies.
These embrace Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Funding Council.
The Digital Xtra Fund’s launch as a charity was introduced by Minister for Additional Training, Greater Training and Science, Shirley-Anne Somerville, in Glasgow at Tackling the Technology Gender Gap Together 2017.
